The Nike Pegasus Premium is a super max stack shoe with a uniquely comfortable and fun ride. The midsole features a full-length air unit which not only provides great protection and impact absorption but one of the bouncy and most fun ride experiences we've tried. I (Yowana) put this through a 100 mile week and was impressed at how well the midsole retained its cushioned feel against the rigors of high-mileage training. The downside is that because the midsole has the air unit, it's not the most stable and supportive for longer runs. And the additional pieces needed to stabilize the unit add weight to the shoe, making this one of the heaviest we've ever put through our lab. If you're seeking a different experience when it comes to max cushioned shoes, this is a good choice. For a more reliable and stable option for high-mileage training, consider the Puma MagMax.
