The ASICS S4+ Yogiri is ASICS’ four-hour marathon racing shoe that originally debuted in Japan but has recently made its way to the U.S. market. The breathable upper, thin tongue, and lightweight laces give it a performance, race-day feel similar to what’s found on the Metaspeed Sky and Edge Paris. Designed to be less aggressive than the Metaspeed series, it is perfect as a long run shoe or for runners who want a little more comfort and stability on race day. It features a beautiful rocker that provides one of the smoothest ride experiences of any race shoe, along with good stability thanks to its dual-foam construction. The S4+ Yogiri combines the best elements of the Magic Speed 4 and the Glideride Max—the lightweight responsiveness of the Magic Speed 4 and the comfort and smoothness of the Glideride Max. At $200, it’s priced at a premium compared to its main competitors—the Boston 12 or 13 ($160) and the Magic Speed 4 ($170)—but matches the price of the less smooth Superblast 2 ($200).
